The Martian Was Only So-So

Ordinarily, I’m a sucker for these kinds of things that visualize the embedding of technologies into artificial human environments, and vast space. But I might have stayed home the other night and just gone out to look at the moon. A mission failure plot line would have done the trick much better. Alas, The Martian was predictable, feel-good, gung-ho, psychologically flat, and only so-so. Is Ridley  Scott visually ungenerous? There was way too much Matt Damon. I was hoping to see much more of “Mars.”
