One State (Rightwing Zionist Map of Palestine)

Had occasion to be at the gym at the JCC in the Riverdale section of the  Bronx where I was unable to keep my eye off this map of Israel created by the Jewish Agency. About this colorful map I have two thoughts. The first obvious one is that this is an ideological map, not an international one. It lays a Jewish claim to the Greater Land of Israel, integrating here and there a little mosque. A keen observer might notice that Sebastia is included as an integral part of this rightwing Zionist propaganda panorama. So is Gaza. The second thought is less obvious, but increasingly obvious. The erasure of the “artificial” Green Line represents what geographers would call the more or less “natural” borders of what is a single territory. Decorating the Jewish community center, this isn’t really Israel anymore. One single territory, it’s only nominally Israel. The more one steps back and looks from a physical distance at the greens and browns that comprise it, the  more and more this map look like Palestine.
