Neo Hasidism (A Review of the New Anthology)

Excellent critical review here at Jewish Currents by Daniel Craft of the 2-vol anthology edited by Arthur Green & Ariel Evan Mayse:

A New Hasidism: Roots

A New Hasidism: Branches

Craft argues that Neo-Hasidism stands or falls on the existence of a living community, without which it is an artificial construct, a illuminated window, not an open one.

This is not irrelevant to the problem of gender which also comes up in the review.

Worth the price of admission are two old pieces by Green in the first volume about religious experience and psychedelics.
