Syracuse University Green Space (Bike Path)

This is the new bike lane at Syracuse University, running up and down University Avenue. I’m not sure if it’s part of the Connective Corridor connecting the University with downtown. They’re doing a lot of greenspacing at SU, which you can read about here. It’s doing a lot to stitch together and animate a lot of dis-used decrepit space surrounding the University. I hope that reanimation includes undergraduate intellectual life. Now if only the bikers take care not to run down pedestrians.

Fine, but did they have to paint it neon green? You’re pictures don’t do justice to how much the color overwhelms the rest of the street-scape. Luckily, one Syracuse winter should be enough to tone it down quite a bit …

That’s funny, Jim. I love the neon green. A coat of fresh coat evey year in the spring will keep it bright and handsome!!
