Butter Sculpture (New York State Fair)

This year’s butter sculpture was dedicated to bovine Olympic glory. Why do they do it? They do it because they can. And because it’s funny. I like the cheerful use of material. Joseph Beuys made stuff out of felt and fat. Why not butter? Folk art with refrigeration.
