Qusra (Palestine) (Video and Photos)

settler

Interesting video from the village of Qusra in the West Bank. There’s every reason to believe that a  group of 11 extremist settlers, well known to Israeli authorities, entered the Palestinian village to commit a violent act. They were caught and beaten by local residents. It could have gone very badly, and the fact that it didn’t says a lot about the nature of the conflict and the parties to it. In some ways its intimate. Palestinian activists on the scene protect the group and coordinate their eviction with the army. Both activists and soldiers handle the settlers with something that looks like disgust. The photograph of the settlers shot by Zacharia Sadah of Rabbis for Human Rights catch something archaic and violent about the face. It looks like anger, confusion, and humiliation. There are more photos at Ynet. It looks like Sadah shot them up close and in the mix.
