Robert Frank (The Americans) (1958)

Interesting article in the Sunday New York Times Magazine about Swiss born, beat-generation photographer Robert Frank. You can read it here. Am going to take a look at his The Americans (1958). Such a book today would have to look very different, from the underside of corporate capitalism. The trick, I think, would be to manage the sympathy unvarnished by sentimentalism. But who even shoots “straight photography” anymore?

  1. It’s a fascinating book, Zach. Have always wanted to see his movie on The Rolling Stones (aptly titled)
