(a partial selection of courses, fall 2012)
The academic study of religion still has an uncertain place in the modern university. My colleagues in the Department of Religion at SU have made an effort to increase the department’s visual profile here at SU. In my own estimation, the aesthetics and attention to aesthetics highlight the “secular,” namely material and embodied characteristics of religion and religious culture. I like the visual register these posters bring to the department and its work.
