Metalic Alien Jesus (Jerusalem)

095

The Christian genius in the Old City of Jerusalem is orthodox. There are two groups of photographs here below. One is from from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, including one shot from the Golgotha Altar just up the steps from the main entrance. Bright red, solver, gold. The material look is metallic, alien, gaudy, and otherworldly. The other set is from the Church of the Greek-Melkite-Catholic Patriarchate, just off Jaffa Gate. I really like the organization of the painted surfaces Both sites have this great glimmering shimmer.
