Shabbes Goy for Hire

shabbbat goy

Better than Amalek? I saw this on FB. From off the haredi street somewhere in Israel, this sign advertises the Goy Shel Shabbat. “The goy,” described as such, offers his services to neighborhood residents according to Halakha. An Israeli Arab taxi driver, his primary job is as a night guard on Friday nights. He’ll patrol by foot or by car. Despite that he is “a well known goy,” the parents (?) are asked not to  congregate around their (?) house or speak with “the goy” more than necessary.
