At AIPAC they don’t seem to understand that the more you say “Israel,” the less and less the word means. Waiting for Donald Trump to speak at AIPAC was as much as I ever want to see. Everyone knows that AIPAC is a hopeless right-wing outfit, but it’s one thing to know and another to see. To watch a worked up crowd to not only openly embrace a bigot and a demagogue, but to do so in the full view of the public eye boggles the mind. It won’t be enough to repudiate Trump when the problem on show today is AIPAC itself. A media spectacle, welcome to  “the desert of the real.”
