Islam, Europe, and the Jews

How do you balance the need to be alert without going overboard? I liked this piece in Haaretz a couple of weeks back. It promotes a less hysterical view about the subject of Islam, Europe, and the Jews. On the other hand, if I lived in France…No doubt, these are times that call for cool heads and critical circumspection. The trick is how to limit or contain the scope by which conflicts are framed.      “Hate crimes” should be designated as such. Even when they surge, do not constitute a “clash of civilizations.”
