Pocket Park (New York Green Space)

007

I like this little pocket park along the Hudson at 125th St. across from Fairway on Marginal Street. Modest in dimension, it’s a very contemporary, high-tech looking park design. I like the use of rough steel (?) railings and wire in the pier design, which juts out into the river like a triangle. A lot is made of a little bit of public space. Alas, it will probably be annexed, de facto, when Columbia moves into the neighborhood. Or perhaps the blocking presence of Fairway will preserve it’s public character.
