The Mordecai M. Kaplan Center for Jewish Peoplehood, The Program for Jewish Civilization at Georgetown University, and the Department of Jewish Studies of McGill University are pleased to announce a conference dedicated to the life, work and legacy of Mordecai Kaplan.
The conference will take place March 2-3, 2014 on the Georgetown campus. We are seeking papers on all aspects of Kaplan’s work. We are especially open to papers that consider Kaplan’s relevance to our times. Papers should be rich in content but accessible to a lay audience. Interested scholars should submit a 400 word abstract by September 3, 2013 to eric.caplan@mcgill.ca
Presenters will receive a modest honorarium and will have their travel costs covered and lodging provided during the conference. For additional information, please contact the conference conveners: Eric Caplan (eric.caplan@mcgill.ca), Daniel Cedarbaum (dan@kaplancenter.org), and Jacques Berlinerblau (jdb75@georgetown.edu).
